About Me

scopeAnahita, the scientist: I am currently working as a Post-doctoral Fellow at Boston University, with Dr. Steve Ramirez and colleagues (you can read more about my amazing teammates here). During my tenure in the Ramirez lab, I plan to manipulate memory traces at different stages of learning, while simultaneously recording the downstream physiological effects. Ultimately, I hope to learn more about how emotional and spatial memories interact and are represented in the brain.

typewriterAnahita, the writer: I have equal parts love for the scientific process as I do for the writing process. The way I see it, the scientific process is one gigantic, messy story that is worth the telling. As such, I’ve made sure to throw myself into various science communications opportunities from volunteering at the NIH Radio to blogging for science conferences and most recently to freelance science writing.
